A striking wedge-shaped rough piece with strong visual contrast: two faces retain the dark brown, weather-worn outer cortex, while the cleaved surfaces expose a vivid bright golden-amber interior. This contrast is one of the most visually appealing aspects of unpolished Baltic amber - the raw earthy exterior giving way to glowing warm orange-gold wherever the natural crust has broken away.
Baltic amber from Poland, fossil resin from ancient coniferous trees approximately 44-50 million years old. No treatments applied. The shape and exposed facets make this a fine candidate for wire wrapping or lapidary work, or it can simply be appreciated as a natural specimen showing amber in its most honest, unworked state.
