Noticeably more transparent than most strawberry quartz, this 6.1mm round keeps large stretches of near-colorless, glassy host between its inclusions, so you can see straight through the stone in places. The body tint is a light blush pink, and the inclusions are the deepest in color of the current group: fine carmine to cyclamen rods and small wine-red flakes, sharply outlined against the clear quartz and spaced rather than crowded. The facets come up clean and the stone brightens strongly through its open zones. Still I3 by grade, but the inclusions are individually legible rather than massed together.
Strawberry quartz is simply rock crystal that grew around red iron oxide platelets, generally hematite and lepidocrocite, and their seed-like scatter is where the name comes from. Most of the material reaching the market is fairly opaque, so a stone showing this much clear quartz is less common. From Africa, untreated, with no dyeing or heating involved. At 7 on the Mohs scale it is comfortable in a ring or pendant, and it is a good candidate for a setting that lets light in from behind.

About strawberry quartz
Strawberry quartz is clear quartz with tiny red inclusions scattered through it. At 7 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a durable stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted strawberry quartz, but skip steam: sudden heat can crack quartz.
Wear and storage
Strawberry quartz is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
