A delicate, pale yellow oval sapphire with an unusual lemon-chartreuse character, placing the hue at the soft intersection of very light yellow and the faintest hint of cool green. The color is subtle and refined rather than vivid, with a fresh, airy quality that sets it apart from a standard golden yellow sapphire. The body is largely transparent with fine needle inclusions running through the interior, giving the stone a natural, honest character. Under UV light, this stone displays natural orange fluorescence, an unusual and collectible property in untreated sapphires.
Completely untreated, with no heat or other enhancement applied, from Madagascar. The combination of natural pale color and orange fluorescence makes this a distinctive collector's stone as well as a charming setting piece. Untreated sapphires of any color are increasingly rare and sought after in the fine jewelry market, and this delicate lemon-chartreuse oval is well suited for a pendant, ring, or earring setting where its quiet, unusual color can be appreciated up close. Yellow sapphire is associated with Jupiter in Vedic astrology and is the traditional September birthstone.
Natural untreated yellow sapphire with orange fluorescence, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
