Natural Blue Amber From Indonesia 34.7ct Polished

A slender elongated polished piece of Indonesian blue amber at 37x19x17mm. In reflected natural light the body shows a deep reddish-amber with mottled darker orange-brown patterning throughout - the natural color variation of Sumatran fossil resin. Under UV at 365nm it transforms completely, glowing a pure saturated bright blue from edge to edge. Scattered dark inclusions visible within the piece appear as distinctive shadow shapes against the vivid fluorescence, giving it a unique and immediately recognizable character.

Indonesian blue amber is a fossil resin from Sumatra valued for its dramatic fluorescent optical effect, caused by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons embedded in the resin millions of years ago. Completely untreated and natural. Works beautifully as a display specimen or for photographing the color-change effect; most dramatic against a dark background in outdoor natural light.
