Warm amber gold, and the color does much of the work here: at 10.2x8.1mm this is a compact stone, but the saturation gives it more visual weight than its size suggests. The rays are broader and fewer than on a larger face, which suits the compact outline, and they gather into a bright core surrounded by deeper amber sectors. Light returns strongly off the polished curves. VS clarity, transparent, with minor natural inclusions.
Warmly colored citrine depends less on size to make an impression, which makes a stone like this useful as an accent beside larger pale material, or as the solitaire in a small ring. It is untreated, from Brazil, and rose gold picks up the orange warmth particularly well. November claims citrine as its birthstone.

About citrine
Citrine is the yellow to golden orange variety of quartz. At 7 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a durable stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted citrine, but skip steam: sudden heat can crack quartz or change its color.
Wear and storage
Citrine is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
