A natural goshenite (white beryl) from Brazil, 0.61ct, in a pear cut measuring 6.9x5.1mm. The stone is fully colorless and transparent, showing a lively, well-faceted face with a clean broad end and a defined tip. Goshenite is the colorless beryl variety, it belongs to the same mineral species as aquamarine and morganite but develops without color. This Brazilian stone shows the clear, glass-like character of well-cut goshenite at VS clarity, with just minor inclusions.
The 6.9x5.1mm pear is a slightly wider form that suits short pendant drops, small pear solitaire rings, or stacked drop earrings. Untreated, no treatments.

About goshenite
Goshenite is the colorless variety of beryl. At 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale with only poor cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted goshenite, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Goshenite is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This goshenite is untreated. Goshenite takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
