Small London blue rounds at 2.5 to 2.6mm, sold by the stone. The photograph lines five of them up so the color consistency can be judged: a bright vivid teal that reads clearly even at this size, each one cut as a full brilliant returning a defined star. Transparency is good throughout and the clarity is VVS. Matching across the group is close, which is the point of buying accent stones from one parcel.
Stones at 2.5mm are set as pavé, as a graduated row down a shank, or as the small points in a cluster, and pricing them individually lets a maker take exactly the number a design calls for. Brazilian topaz is irradiated and then heated to reach this depth. At accent size, consistency across a group matters far more than any single stone. December counts blue topaz among its birthstones.

About topaz
Topaz is 8 on the Mohs scale, so it resists scratches well, but it has perfect cleavage along one plane, and a sharp knock can split it even when the surface shows no scratches. It suits pendants and earrings, and rings too if worn with care.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can start a crack along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work: a sharp knock can split it. Harder stones such as sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This topaz is irradiated, the usual treatment for this color. Topaz should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
