Ten round moonstone cabochons with milky white to pale blue-grey bodies and strong adularescence throughout. Most stones display a clear blue flash, centered or slightly off-center, against the white base. The standout piece has an unusually deep, midnight-blue glow that fills nearly the full face, a level of saturation more often associated with good labradorite than with ordinary moonstone. One stone at the end shows more pronounced banded cleavage and a greyer, more diffuse sheen.
A lot with good overall adularescence and one particularly bright blue piece. The milky white base gives each stone's glow clear contrast, they photograph well, and they suit silver settings where the white and blue combination stands out. India is the primary commercial source for round cabochon moonstone.

About moonstone
Moonstone is a feldspar whose soft blue-white glow (adularescence) comes from light scattering between extremely thin layers inside the stone. Like all feldspars it is 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale with two perfect cleavage directions, so it needs protection from knocks.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and heat can split it along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work, where a knock is most likely to split it along its cleavage. Below 7 on the Mohs scale it can be scratched even by quartz in household dust, so store it on its own in a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
These stones are untreated. Moonstone should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
