A varied lot of small grape agate clusters showing a wider color spread than is typical. Alongside the expected dusty lavender-purple pieces, this lot includes several clearly grey-green and teal-blue toned clusters, a couple of pieces with golden-ochre crystalline matrix at the base, and one tiny single pale lavender sphere sitting among larger clusters. The pieces range from single orbs to multi-sphere clusters, and the average size tends toward the larger end of the 13-24mm range, making this a useful lot for anyone seeking color variation within a grape agate parcel. The teal-green pieces are a natural color variant caused by trace minerals during formation.
Grape agate from Sulawesi, Indonesia, is known for producing a range of tones from lavender and purple to grey, teal, and blue depending on trace mineral content. All pieces in this lot are natural and untreated. The slightly larger size range (up to 24mm) compared to smaller lots means individual clusters are more developed and display-worthy as standalone specimens.
Natural grape agate, Sulawesi, mixed colors, lot sold by weight.

About grape agate
Grape agate is purple chalcedony that grows in small round clusters. It is 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, but the tiny spheres can break off when knocked.
Cleaning
Rinse it in lukewarm water and brush off any dirt with a soft brush, then let it dry. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: they can crack the crystals.
Wear and storage
Handle and store it carefully: the tiny spheres can break off when knocked.
Scale
True to scale: 13 – 24 mm
Shown next to a €1 coin (23.25 mm) in the exact ratio, so you can picture the real size. The outline is approximate.
