A 22.5mm heart with a soft, muted palette dominated by grey-green and pale sage, lighter in overall tone than most of the series. The orbs are closely spaced and small-to-medium in size, rendered in cream and white against the gentle grey-green ground, with darker outer rings providing definition. A narrow strip of slightly warmer tan at the base of the heart adds a faint ground note of warmth. The overall impression is gentle and restrained - a cooler, quieter piece that pairs well with silver or white-gold settings.
The soft grey-green and pale sage tones here reflect a composition low in iron oxides and dominated by silica and chlorite-group minerals. Madagascar origin, untreated. At 39.7ct this is one of the lighter hearts in the series for its 22.5mm diameter, suggesting a flatter profile. About jasper
Jasper is opaque, fine-grained quartz. At 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is tough and durable.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Display it on a stand or a soft cloth so it cannot roll or knock against harder stones, and store it wrapped in a soft cloth.
