Natural Prehnite 85.6ct Oval Cabochon

The standout piece of this prehnite collection, distinguished by its 85.6ct weight and, uniquely among these cabochons, its semi-transparent body that allows light to pass through in a way the fully opaque stones do not. A dramatic, dense spray of black epidote needles fans outward in a radiating pattern from the center of the stone, clearly visible against the deeper olive-green body. Warm golden-brown patches add further depth and color variation to the internal character.

The semi-transparency of this piece is less common in African prehnite cabochon material and allows the dense epidote needle spray to be seen in full relief as light passes through the body, making the inclusions a prominent decorative feature.
