The polished face shows vivid magenta ruby color filling the central and lower areas of the stone, with the bright green zoisite more prominent toward the edges and tip, and dark hornblende inclusions distributed throughout as characteristic of anyolite. Ruby in zoisite is found almost exclusively in the Longido district of Tanzania, where the two minerals co-crystallized under specific metamorphic conditions. About ruby in zoisite
Ruby in zoisite is a rock from Tanzania: opaque red ruby crystals set in green zoisite, often with black hornblende. The ruby is very hard, but the zoisite around it is only 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, so its care follows the zoisite.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: the stone combines minerals that react differently to heat and vibration.
Wear and storage
