Ten tiny tanzanite rounds in the 2.3-2.5mm melee range, running from pale silvery lavender through soft blue-violet with one or two richer, deeper stones in the mix. All are cleanly faceted and throw good sparkle for their size, with a couple showing small natural inclusions visible on close inspection.
These stones come from the Merelani Hills of Tanzania, the only place tanzanite is mined, and have received the standard heat treatment used across the trade. A practical option for pave settings, filling out a multi-stone design, or anyone who facets and sets their own small accent stones.

About tanzanite
Tanzanite is the blue to violet variety of the mineral zoisite. At 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, with perfect cleavage and fair toughness, it is softer and more fragile than sapphire, so it needs gentle handling.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can start a crack along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work: a sharp knock can split it. With a hardness below 7 it can be scratched even by quartz, which is found in household dust, so wipe it gently and store it on its own in a soft pouch. It suits pendants and earrings better than an everyday ring.
For your jeweler
These stones are heated, and the color from heating is stable. Tanzanite should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
