A natural goshenite (white beryl) from Brazil, 0.74ct, in a marquise cut measuring 9.7x4.7mm. Shot against a dark background, the stone shows its character clearly, fully colorless and highly transparent, with the marquise faceting producing a strong, active light play across the elongated face. The two pointed tips are well-defined and the curved sides give the stone a classic, balanced marquise form. VS clarity means very clean material with just minor inclusions.
The nearly 10mm marquise is an impressive length for a sub-carat stone. Natural untreated white beryl from Brazil.

About goshenite
Goshenite is the colorless variety of beryl. At 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale with only poor cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted goshenite, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Goshenite is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This goshenite is untreated. Goshenite takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
