Deep teal fills this 9mm trillion from edge to edge, one of the richer stones in the group, with a strong symmetrical star breaking through the table. The blue holds its saturation even in the corners, where lighter trillions usually thin out. A few fine surface scratches show on one crown facet under raking light, the normal evidence of handling and polishing at this level, and they leave the color and light return untouched. Natural inclusions are visible only on close inspection, in line with VS.
This deeper sky blue sits between the standard sky and London shades and is the most versatile of the three for everyday wear. The color is the result of irradiating and heating colorless Brazilian topaz, a permanent treatment used across the trade. About topaz
Topaz is 8 on the Mohs scale, so it resists scratches well, but it has perfect cleavage along one plane, and a sharp knock can split it even when the surface shows no scratches. It suits pendants and earrings, and rings too if worn with care.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can start a crack along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work: a sharp knock can split it. Harder stones such as sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This topaz is irradiated, the usual treatment for this color. Topaz should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
