A pale champagne diaspore cushion cut with a compact, well-proportioned outline and bright facet return. The stone measures 4.8x4.4mm and shows VS clarity, with the body largely clean and transparent aside from a single tiny pinpoint inclusion visible near the center under close inspection.
Diaspore reaches facetable, gem quality almost exclusively in the Ilbir Mountains of Turkey, where it is also known by the trade name Zultanite. It is valued for a genuine color-change effect, shifting between champagne, green, and pink or raspberry tones under different light sources due to strong pleochroism in the crystal. This stone is untreated, as is standard for the species. Diaspore wears well in jewelry thanks to its good hardness, and its rarity makes it appealing to collectors of color-change and unusual gemstones.

About diaspore
Diaspore is 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, but its perfect cleavage makes it fragile under knocks.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can start a crack along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work: a sharp knock can split it. With a hardness below 7 it can be scratched even by quartz, which is found in household dust, so wipe it gently and store it on its own in a soft pouch. It suits pendants and earrings better than an everyday ring.

This diaspore is untreated. Diaspore should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
