A pale grey-green champagne diaspore cushion cut measuring 5x5mm, with a well-balanced square-cushion outline and lively faceting. At VS clarity, a faint natural feather and a few fine pinpoint inclusions are visible under magnification, but the stone reads clean and bright face-up.
Diaspore is mined in gem quality almost exclusively from the Ilbir Mountains of Turkey, where it is also marketed as Zultanite. The species is known for a genuine color-change effect, shifting between champagne, green, and pink or raspberry tones depending on the light source, caused by strong pleochroism within the crystal. This stone is untreated, as is standard for diaspore. Its good hardness makes it practical for jewelry use, and its rarity gives it particular appeal to collectors of color-change gemstones.

About diaspore
Diaspore is 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, but its perfect cleavage makes it fragile under knocks.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can start a crack along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work: a sharp knock can split it. With a hardness below 7 it can be scratched even by quartz, which is found in household dust, so wipe it gently and store it on its own in a soft pouch. It suits pendants and earrings better than an everyday ring.

This diaspore is untreated. Diaspore should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
