A natural fluorescent cerussite with baryte cluster from Morocco, 188g, measuring 58x43x37mm. The largest specimen in this series, with large blocky amber-honey colored cerussite crystal groups filling the specimen with substantial mass. The warm amber tone and chunky crystal form give this piece a strong, bold appearance as visible in the product photos. Under UV light, the cerussite fluoresces vividly.
At 188g this is a substantial display piece - one of the heavier cerussite specimens in this collection. Cerussite is a lead carbonate mineral from the oxidation zones of lead ore deposits, with Morocco being one of the classic worldwide localities. Suited for a prominent display position in a mineral collection. UV fluorescent. Cerussite is soft at 3 to 3.5 on the Mohs scale and dense from its lead content, giving this piece real heft.

About this specimen
This specimen combines several minerals that grew together, each with its own hardness and weak spots, so treat it as gently as its softest part.
Cleaning
Do not wash it. Dust it with a soft, dry brush or an air blower, and keep it dry. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: they can loosen crystals and open cracks between the different minerals.
Wear and storage
Store it padded and apart from other specimens, so its edges and faces do not chip or scratch. Lift it by its base or matrix, not by the crystals. It is softer than a steel knife, so keep metal tools and harder stones away from it.
