Natural Fluorescent Scapolite Crystals - Quality 2 - Price For 1 Piece Random Pick

Rough Tanzanian scapolite in the grade 2 sorting, sold one crystal at a time. In daylight these pieces run warmer and smokier than the grade 1 material: soft grey-brown and tan tones, with more internal veiling and cloud sitting behind the glassy, heavily striated outer faces, and only a few approaching near-colorless. What the extra veiling does not touch is the behaviour under UV. At 365nm the crystals glow violet-purple shading into magenta, 310nm pushes them into hot pink-magenta with some pieces holding a bluer violet, and 255nm gives the parcel a weak, even red.

The grades differ only in crystal size and how well formed the pieces are, so grade 2 keeps the full 15 to 23mm size at a lower price than grade 1. Untreated, and 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.
