Natural Violet Iolite 1.36ct 9.5x6mm Cushion Cut

A medium violet-blue elongated cushion with the characteristic pleochroism of iolite clearly visible - the table area reads as softer lavender while the girdle and sides show richer blue-violet. A dark needle-like inclusion runs diagonally through the stone, with additional wispy features in the upper portion. The colour shifts noticeably with viewing angle. SI clarity.

Untreated iolite from Tanzania in a wide-oval cushion outline. Iolite is known for its strong pleochroism - appearing different colours from different directions - which makes it visually interesting to wear.
