A soft peach orange with a paler golden center, gentler and more muted than the vivid stones in this group. The material is translucent with an even cloudiness, giving a calm, diffused glow across the whole face. Fine internal veils gather toward the lower middle, showing as pale wisps, consistent with the SI grade. The round is cut with broad shallow facets and a softly even outline at 5.5mm.
Namibia produces spessartine in this quieter peach register as well as the bright orange it is known for. The stone is untreated. At 5.5mm it is an easy everyday size for a stud or a small pendant, and the soft tone reads well against warm metals. As a garnet it also serves as a January birthstone.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted garnet, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This garnet is untreated. Garnet takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
