Warm coral orange across most of the stone, with a distinct pale cream-yellow zone running along the lower right edge that gives this oval genuine color zoning rather than a single flat tone. The boundary between the two is soft, and in the light the cream area reads almost golden. Fine internal fractures show near the upper right, catching light as short bright lines, consistent with the SI grade. The oval is cut shallow with a wide table, and the material is translucent, so the whole face glows evenly.
Namibian spessartine sometimes grows with this kind of color zoning, and here it has been left in the stone rather than cut away. The stone is untreated. At 7x6mm it suits a pendant or earring, where the two-tone effect is visible up close. As a garnet it also serves as a January birthstone.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted garnet, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This garnet is untreated. Garnet takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
