Soft tangerine orange, lighter and warmer than the vivid Fanta stones, with a paler golden zone across the middle of the table. The material is naturally cloudy throughout, which softens the light into a diffuse glow rather than sharp facet flashes. A few small dark specks sit near the upper edge and fine internal veiling spreads across the whole stone, consistent with the SI grade. The oval is cut with a wide flat table and shallow sides, keeping the whole face bright.
Namibia produces spessartine at every point of the orange range, including this gentler tangerine tone. The stone is untreated. At 8.6x6.3mm it suits a pendant or earrings, where the soft even glow reads well at arm's length. As a garnet it also serves as a January birthstone.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted garnet, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This garnet is untreated. Garnet takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
