The brightest and liveliest of the small rounds, a vivid pure orange that holds its intensity right across the face with a golden pool at the center. The round is cut with large crown facets that throw clean white flashes, and the stone has noticeably more life than the cloudier material in this group. A small dark speck sits near the lower edge and fine internal veils drift through the middle, consistent with the SI grade. The outline is even and the polish bright.
This is Namibian spessartine at its most characteristic, the clear vivid orange the source is known for. The stone is untreated. At 5.7mm it works as a stud, a small pendant, or an accent stone, and the brightness carries well at that size. As a garnet it also serves as a January birthstone.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted garnet, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
