A warm apricot orange pear, broad and softly rounded rather than sharply pointed, with the color sitting evenly across the whole face. A small bright inclusion sits almost exactly at the center, catching light as a silvery-white spark against the orange. Fine surface marks and shallow internal wisps run across the lower half, consistent with the SI grade. The material is translucent rather than transparent, giving a soft even glow instead of facet sparkle.
Namibian spessartine covers this softer apricot end of the range as well as the vivid Fanta tones. The stone is untreated. At 7.4x6.6mm the broad pear shape suits a pendant or a simple bezel setting where the even color can lead. As a garnet it also serves as a January birthstone.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted garnet, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This garnet is untreated. Garnet takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
