Topaz is an aluminum silicate containing fluorine. It is a hard gemstone, but it has perfect cleavage, so it should be protected from sharp knocks. Natural topaz is most often colorless to light brown, and warm golden to orange-brown stones are often called cognac or sherry topaz. The blue topaz widely sold today starts as colorless topaz that is irradiated and heated, a stable, standard treatment that is always stated on our listings.
Citrine is the yellow to orange-brown variety of quartz. Naturally colored citrine is uncommon, and much of the citrine on the market is heated amethyst or smoky quartz. Treatment status is listed for every stone, so you always know what you are buying.
Every stone here is natural, photographed individually and listed with its exact weight, dimensions and treatment status.
